ANDREW'S STORY

Andrew McKinney is the son of Hucks Vice President, Mark McKinney.  Andrew passed away in August, 2013 from cancer after his battle with Melanoma at the young age of 24.  Mark and his family wanted to honor Andrew by raising money for the Coach Kill Fund to help families dealing with the financial burden that cancer brings.

Hucks came to the SIH Foundation 4 years ago to form the poker run fundraiser, Hucks Ride for The Fund in honor of Andrew who loved to ride. The ride drew motorcyclists from all over our region to support the Coach Kill Fund.  Hucks then introduced the sales of wristbands to honor Andrew.  The bands were such a huge success, bringing in over $40,000.00 for the Fund, that in the best interest of southern Illinois families, a new fundraiser was developed.  Hucks Banding Together for the Fund hopes to bring in much needed funds for cancer patients all over the region.  If we all join together and purchase a $1.00 wristband to honor Andrew and Coach Kill Fund cancer patients, our dollars will grow to large amounts making such a difference in the lives of our neighbors struggling with the burden of a cancer diagnosis.

At the SIH Foundation, we love working with Mark and the Hucks team to honor the memory of Andrew McKinney.  We can’t think of a better way to honor a life than to help another life in need.
